Description
BHAGAVAD GITA INSIGHTS
Online Course by Chaitanya Charan
Studying the Bhagavad-gita can be both enlivening and puzzling: it can illuminate us about our spiritual identity and our life’s ultimate purpose, yet we may find ourselves confused about the Gita’s concepts, thought-flow and relevance.
Drawing from the commentaries of Srila Prabhupada and the previous acharyas, this course will help you gain insights into the unity, the beauty and the practicality of the Gita’s teachings, primarily four of its teachings:
Tolerance : The Gita urges Arjuna to tolerate dualities (02.13), but not the Kauravas’ injustice (11.33) — why? Understand when tolerance raises us to transcendence and when it reduces us to impotency
Detachment : The Gita calls upon Arjuna to be detached (02.47), yet insists that he be responsible (03.21) — how can the two go together? Appreciate how detachment can help us to become more responsible and responsive, not less.
Devotion : The Gita instructs Arjuna to both remember Krishna and fight (08.07) — how can he do both these simultaneously? Learn the various dimensions of remembrance and how remembering Krishna can make us more focused, not less, in doing our duties.
Dharma : The Gita talks about both establishing dharma (04.08) and renouncing dharma (18.66) — why such a contradiction? Recognize the many meanings of dharma and how they all harmonize in guiding us to find the right thing to do in our life.
