Yoga Nidra: Theory and Practice
Yoga Nidra is an ancient yogic practice of active relaxation that not only helps the practioner relax the physical body, but also helps unwind the mental body by working on various impressions and inclinations that have shaped the mental framework. In this course you will learn the theory behind this ancient science of Yoga Nidra and understand the concept of Chitta or Mind from a vedic perspective. This course also systematically explains the various steps involved in the Yoga Nidra practice and the science behind them. By all this scientific understanding and through practice, Yoga Nidra can be applied not only for personal use but also as a therapy for others.
Meet the Instructor – Nimai Lila Das is the Head Philosophy teacher at Govardhan School of Yoga. He has been a resident of Govardhan Ecovillage(GEV) for almost a decade serving in various capacities. He is known by his students for his ability to convey complex philosophical topics in a simple to understand way using humor and metaphors. His areas of expertise include Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, Mind & Meditation and Yoga Nidra. He is also a faculty in the Bhaktivedanta Vidyapitham, a traditional Vedic school at GEV teaching Srimad Bhagavatam and other Bhakti scriptures.
