Meditation in Bhakti Tradition
Meditation practices have long been hailed as one of the topmost spiritual practices by many world traditions and are often seen as something exclusive to the master mystics. In this course we attempt to simplify the science of meditation, the foundational principles behind the various techniques of meditation and most importantly a step by step method for beginners to develop expertise in this process. Based on the teaching in the Bhakti tradition, which mainly rely on mantra based meditation techniques, in this course the students will learn the fundamental Do’s & Don’ts and how to steady one’s own practice. This course will also be a guiding tool for sincere seekers to over the various challenges in meditation. Students can derive more benefit from this course if they have already done the GITA & INTEGRATED YOGA course and the YOGESHWARA KRISHNA course.

Meet the Instructor – Nimai Lila Das is the Head Philosophy teacher at Govardhan School of Yoga. He has been a resident of Govardhan Ecovillage(GEV) for almost a decade serving in various capacities. He is known by his students for his ability to convey complex philosophical topics in a simple to understand way using humor and metaphors. His areas of expertise include Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, Mind & Meditation and Yoga Nidra. He is also a faculty in the Bhaktivedanta Vidyapitham, a traditional Vedic school at GEV teaching Srimad Bhagavatam and other Bhakti scriptures.
